Gift Aid is a means by which Charities can claim back from the government the tax paid on earnings for the contrubutions that we receive.
It is achieved by acurrately tracking the membership fees paid to the group and reporting them to the tax office.
For us this would be a contribution of £21.00 for each member of the Group.
With the number of people that we have we are looking to claim back over £1000 per year.
This year we are planning to claim 6 months as we are only just getting on top of the records needed to provide proof of payment.
In any event this will give us £500 if we can get everybody on board.
