1st Coddington Scout Group 17 April 2008
Dear Parents
We have recently had our Scout Group Capitation return – this is where the numbers in each Group are recorded and we pay insurance for each member – and I can happily say that once again numbers are up from last year. That being said, it also means we should be able to get more volunteers to help – sadly this isn’t the case. Akela and Kaa have retired from active Scouting, and we are looking for new leaders. You don’t need any experience – just a willingness to help, admin skills, craft skills or anything you think may be of interest. Please contact me for more details.
We are planning a Family Barbecue on Friday 4 July – Please put the date in your diaries. This will be a fund-raising event as well as our AGM – but the emphasis will be on fun!
Many thanks to those of you who have donated to the boiler fund. In some ways we are fortunate to have our own property, but this also leaves us in a position of having to maintain it. As you are all aware, the building is extremely old, and we have been informed that there are quite a few jobs that need doing to the building. We have started to apply for grants from various charities, but we need to do some major fund-raising too – thus proving our commitment to the cause. For us to do this successfully we need the support of all of you.
The subs you pay is for the activities we provide for your children and also to pay the insurance for each member of the Scout Group for scouting activities.
St George’s Day Parade – Sunday 27 April.
PLEASE SEE YOUR LEADER FOR MORE DETAILS
I would like a full attendance this year – we are one of the biggest Scout Groups in the County, so lets show the District what we can do!
Once again – thank you for your on-going support – hopefully we will see you all at the Barbecue.
Kind regards
Laura Bennett
Group Scout Leader
